Jambo from Daraja Academy!
We've only been at Daraja for two days now, but it feels like a week! So far, we've been greeted like celebrities, had delicious meals, gone on a beautiful hike toured the campus, planted trees, sorted rocks from beans, taught classes on computers and journaling, shared music, and taken showers ranging from freezing to boiling, light to dark. Out of that list, here are some of the highlights the group has shared:

So far, we've been greeted like celebrities, had delicious meals, gone on a beautiful hike toured the campus, planted trees, sorted rocks from beans, taught classes on computers and journaling, shared music, and taken showers ranging from freezing to boiling, light to dark. Out of that list, here are some of the highlights the group has shared:
- getting welcomed so warmly!
- dancing with the Daraja girls
- seeing the views on the hike
- weed whacking around the Daraja swales
- waking up to birdsong
- finally seeing Cora's famous shamba shed
- chasing after the bag that fell off the top of our van
- seeing two boys chase after our vans in Nanyuki
- seeing Kenya on the drive from Nairobi to Nanyuki—everyone waved!
- hearing everyone share in the journaling class
- getting to know the Daraja girls
So far, we've had a great time at Daraja. We are feeling more and more comfortable around the girls and can't wait to know them all by name! Tomorrow holds in store more computer and journaling classes, the inaugural dance and music class, spiritual time, and the hour for reading. Yes, our days are full.
